Grand Prix 2026

🏁 The Grand Prix Returns to Quebec Laval-Laurentides! 🏁

Calling all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts! Join us this April for an exciting, two-day weekend event where you will bring your own custom creations to compete in friendly, action-packed races.

Whether you are racing Beaver Buggies, tuning up Kub Kars, hauling with massive 18-Wheelers, or building a destructible machine for our Demolition Derby, this is your chance to show off your building skills. Bring your Colony, Pack and Troop pride, because you will be going head-to-head against other groups to see who truly rules the track!

🏆 Design, Rules, & "The Coolest Ride"

Ready to build a champion? Keep these important guidelines in mind as you design your ultimate racing machine:

  • The Kits: All racing vehicles must be built by the youth (with a little help from their parents!) using official wooden kits available from the Scout Shop.

  • The Rules: Racing vehicles for Cubs and Scouts are subject to strict specifications. You can find the detailed rules here: Official Rules.

  • The racing doesn't stop at the finish line! Both the Kub Kar and 18-Wheeler events include a special "Show and Shine" competition for the coolest car and truck. It’s time to pimp your ride!

💥 BACK FOR 2026: The Demolition Derby!

We are brigning back a special face-to-face collision track where parts will fly! Here is what you need to know about the Derby:

  • Who Can Enter: Open to youth (Cubs and Scouts) and Adults. There is a strict limit of one vehicle per Pack, Troop or Adult.

  • The Vehicles: Leave your pristine racing machines safely in the pits! Derby entries must be custom, "disposable" creations built specifically to be destroyed on the track.

  • The Rules: Safety and track compatibility are key. Specific build rules and dimension limits for these destructible creations are available here: Official Rules.

📅 How the Racing Weekend Will Unfold

Saturday: Cubs – Full Day Event

  • Morning: Cubs will race within their specific age categories while others enjoy planned activities.

  • Afternoon: The Great Race! All Cubs will race together in a massive showdown.

  • Late Afternoon: Demolition Derby! Pack and Adult entries hit the special collision track to close out the day.

  • Please note: Since this is a full-day event, all must bring a packed cold lunch!

Sunday Morning: Beavers

  • It’s time for the Beavers to take the track for a morning of friendly Beaver Buggy racing.

Sunday Afternoon: Scouts

  • Scouts will hit the track with their massive 18-wheelers, competing in two distinct categories:

    • Race 1: Tractor only

    • Race 2: Full truck (Tractor and trailer)

  • Late Afternoon: Demolition Derby! Troop and Adult entries face off to see whose destructible creation survives the longest.

🛠️ Need Tools? Join Our Workshop Day!

We know that not every household has access to the carpentry tools needed to shape up a racing vehicle. That is why we are hosting a Workshop day on Sunday, March 15, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Centre Socio-Culturel-Chavigny à Boisbriand (480 Avenue Chavigny, Boisbriand, Québec J7G 2N6).

Come drop by! We will be there to offer assistance and get you started with assembling, cutting, and shaping your ride.

Workshop Tips:

  • Come prepared with an idea or sketch of what you want your ride to look like.

  • Keep physics in mind: To be the fastest on the track, your vehicle needs to be as close to the maximum weight limit as possible. The more wood you carve away for your design, the more weights you will need to add back in!

Don't wait! Please hurry and register your youth as soon as possible so we can best plan this amazing event.

See you at the finish line!
